A Name And A Town,
Not Just A Photo

Any seller can post a good-looking dog, and a photograph proves very little, because it is the one thing a seller controls completely. A placement page can carry more than that: the dog’s name, its breed, the town it lives in and the life it leads, and the family’s own review on Google, which we cannot write or edit. Our guide to protection dog scams and red flags covers the checks a seller cannot fake.

We name the dog and the town, not the family. The street, the children’s names and faces, and anything else a stranger has no business knowing stay off these pages. Where a family has reviewed us on Google, the dog’s page shows the review under the name Google already shows.

Each page also says, in our words, what the dog’s life shows a buyer: what an IGP 1 title proves and where it stops, why a Malinois needs somewhere to put its energy, and why a dog that can work hard on the field and also relax on the couch with its family is the expensive kind. Each of those links to the guide that goes further. Ask us about any of these dogs when you call.

Tell Us How Your House Runs

Who lives with you, who visits, what other animals share the house and what you want a dog to do. That decides the breed and the dog, and it decides whether you need one at all; our guide on whether to buy a protection dog is the honest place to start.
