I can't say enough good things about this guy! His knowledge and experience with Belgian Malinois and protection dogs are second to none. After years of training police K9s, he knows exactly what he's doing. His ability to work with these dogs is seriously impressive! If you're looking for a Belgian Malinois, a protection dog, or professional training, I highly recommend him. You won't find many people with this level of experience and dedication!

What Her Story
Tells A Buyer
A Full Tank, And Somewhere To Empty It
The trouble families have with a Malinois, as our Belgian Malinois page puts it, is almost never aggression. It is a full tank with nowhere to empty it. Espen has three places to empty hers: the water, the outdoors and the open road. In a North Texas summer an outlet in the water is worth having, and our guide to protection dogs in Texas heat covers what the season does to a working dog.
Other Dogs, And A Human Brother
Espen shares her house with other dogs and with her human brother. That is a harder test than any training field. A dog in a house like hers has to stay neutral with the other dogs, and steady with her own people when nothing is happening, which is most of the day. If your household has children in it, our guide to protection dogs and children explains why training is not the safety system, and sets out the house rules that are.
Farmersville, Collin County
Farmersville is a small town in eastern Collin County, east of McKinney. Wick, another of our Malinois, lives across the county in Lucas. Our Dallas–Fort Worth page covers what a buyer in the metro can see in person before choosing a dog, the kinds of property a dog has to fit here, and the North Texas summer. If you are buying a bite-trained dog in Texas, the owner’s side of the law is in our Texas dog bite law guide.

Tell Us How Your House Runs
If your house already has dogs in it, or a child, tell us that before anything else: it shapes the choice of dog more than the breed does. Then tell us what you want the dog to do, and what your weekends look like. If a dog like Espen fits, we will say so, and if no dog fits, we will say that too.
